The past couple weeks Spencer 7th graders have been examining the circumference and areas of circles. Therefore, it seemed fitting to celebrate something as infinite as the value of pi.
Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi is used in mathematics to represent a constant (the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter) which is approximately 3.14159. If you haven’t figured it out, Pi Day is observed on March 14 since 3, 1, and 4 are the first three digits of pi.
On this special day the 7th graders became a little “irrational” when sharing their "Pi" projects. They also listened to some "Pi" tunes and played "Pi" cards, but the best part was eating some delicious "Pi" food.- Submitted by Mrs. Barton
