A math classroom is the only place where people buy 64 watermelons and no one wonders why.
Students who have been in my classroom would probably tell you that I love math and the way it affects our daily lives. This curiosity about numbers led me to earn a degree in Regular Education with a minor in mathematics. Later, I returned to college to attain a Masters of Arts in Education degree. I have spent a majority of my professional career as a 5th grade teacher in Spencer. However, my true passion has always been to teach middle school math. I am living the dream.
I believe teaching is a lifelong learning process and everywhere one turns there is a new door to open. I continually strive to instill a love of learning in my students and encourage them to take that step through the next door in their education process. They, in turn, have taught me to open my mind and heart to the diversity of ideas in the world.
We smile at the new, cherish the old and laugh daily.
