Spencer Family Night in Literacy

Come see projects by students in Literacy, 

Foreign Language, Art, Dance, and Music for you to enjoy 

what they have been learning! 

When? November 10, 2022 4:15 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.  

Where? School District of Spencer 

Events: 

  • 4:15-5:30 p.m. Enjoy light refreshments while touring classrooms and enjoying conversations with our school staff about multicultural lessons our students are learning to increase multilingual and multicultural skills to become successful global citizens. Our staff and students are looking forward to sharing what students have learned and created! Displays in the library and classrooms!

  • 5:15-5:50 p.m. Taco Dinner in the cafeteria (*Please send your RSVP by November 1,2022 to the school Title III Coordinator, Lisa Vann, via email at lvann@spencer.k12.wi.us or telephone at 715-659-4642 Ext. 2050 with your party’s last name and number of people attending so we can plan accordingly.) 

  • 6:00-6:45 p.m. The Omeyocan Dance Company exists to celebrate Mexico’s colorful cultural history while sharing traditional Aztec Dancing. Through performances that feature authentic dances, costumes, and music, they entertain and educate audiences of all ages and cultures seeking to enrich all with appreciation and an enhanced cultural awareness of Mexico‘s storied past and vivid traditions. The Omeyocan Dance Company performs authentic Aztec dances with ancient drum methods featuring ornate feathered headdresses, beaded costumes, ceremonial fire, high-energy footwork highlighted by the chatter of ankle rattles, and dramatic choreography full of symbolism. Aztec dance is truly spectacular! 

    Students will be invited to dance with this dynamic company and have pictures taken! Students in grades K-5 will have an opportunity to see this performance at 2:00 p.m. the same day!
