Mrs. Fischer also had this to say about Mrs. Eckes, “Mrs. Eckes is an amazing teaching partner and fourth grade simply would not be the same without her. She inspires both her students and her colleagues with her passion for learning, in particular reading. She has come up with so many ways to make learning a fun experience for her students, such as playing games to review concepts and practice skills, incorporating movies, videos, and other digital media, and holding contests to excite and motivate the students. And when all else fails, she dresses up like a rockstar, sometimes for days at a time!
Her devotion to her profession does not stop with the students. She is always willing to listen to and provide feedback to her colleagues - she often helps me to better see things from another perspective which in turn makes student learning more successful.
Although she makes it seem effortless, her success in teaching is not without hard work. She consistently arrives early, stays late, and even ventures to school on the weekends to plan and create lessons and activities. She even makes a point to take interest in and support students by attending their extracurricular activities outside of school. For this and much more, Spencer Elementary School and particularly 4th grade are fortunate to have her as a teacher, colleague, and friend - rock on Mrs. Eckes!”
Mrs. Abel echoed this saying, “Mrs. Eckes is the epitome of the word vibrant. It is obvious that she loves her students and will do anything for engagement and learning. She knows her kids and will provide them with the best possible environment and learning experiences that she can. Hello Rockstar! I had the pleasure of being her mentor when she first came to our Rocket Family last year. I quickly noticed that while I could offer her tips about the ins and outs of Spencer, she could also offer me valuable professional advice. I love that I can go to her with reading ideas and she is always willing Mrs. Eckes to be an exceptional asset to our Rocket staff. It is also true, that I consider her to be a dear friend.”
More accolades were added by Mrs. Miller, “Mrs. Eckes is the TIGGER in our 4th grade ! She is full of bounce, laughter, and great ideas! When we are blah or down, we can always count on her to perk us up and get us on board! She is a wonderful team player and always works hard. She does her best for our school, our students, and everyone around her! She's never afraid to do WHATEVER(even crazy dress-ups) it takes to motivate others to meet their goals and be their best!
She practices the Rocket Way EVERY day! Congratulations Mrs. Eckes on a WELL deserved award! We love you!“
I’d like to add that I am so glad that Mrs. Eckes chose Spencer Elementary as her professional home. Her energetic, vibrant personality as well as her natural gift with our students makes her a true “Rock Star” for our district! Thank you Mrs. Eckes, we are so happy that you are part of our Rocket Family!!
