School Cancelled starting Monday March 16th. Virtual Learning to begin Tuesday March 17th

The School District of Spencer will be closed with limited access for the duration of the mandated time frame.  This includes all school sponsored and extracurricular events. We have and will continue to adhere to the direction given by the Health Department, by the Department of Instruction and the Governor’s office. 


  • Monday March 16, 2020

    • No School for students (similar to snow day)

    • All staff to report to school to plan for mandated closing


  • Tuesday March 17, 2020


    • Virtual online learning will begin.  

    • Grades PK-5 - Devices and other materials have been sent home with all students  If your child does not have these please contact school during regular school hours for a pick-up time.

    • Grades 6-12- Information has been provided to students with more to come via email.  

    • We understand and continue to address the need for internet access for those who indicated such.  


  • Other 

    • Discussion involving food service through this time.

    • Unless directed otherwise will provide daycare via Rookie Rockets with possible limitations.

    • For students with medication or other medically needed objects please contact the Elementary office to arrange a pick up time.

    • If unsure, please check your student information on infinite campus for accuracy.

    • We understand that there will be a great deal of uncertainty and questions moving forward.  Many of which we are unsure of. We ask for patience and understanding as we proceed through these unchartered waters.

The Community and School District of Spencer has always banned together in a time of need.  I am fully confident in our staff, students and parents to work together to make the best of this situation.
